Distance control

To be a good putter one has to focus on rolling long putts the correct distance. Distance control is more important than achieving the proper line on longer putts and will actually help you make more one putts while also eliminating the frequency of three putting. Here are my keys to good distance control:

1. Stroke tempo - Keep it smooth , with a pendulum-like rhythm, slightly accelerating through impact area

2. Stroke length - Have backstroke and follow through of equal lengths or even a slightly longer follow through

3. Solidness of contact - Set up with hands directly below the shoulder
joints, head and eyes centered directly over ball, hands slightly ahead of clubhead at address and through impact

4. Eliminate body movement - Use an arm and shoulder stroke while keeping the rest of the body still. Lean your weight slightly towards the left foot (righthanded players) at address and keep it there throughout stroke.

5. Path of stroke - Line up shoulders parallel to target line.
