PGA Pro   Putting Tip

Make it straight

Make every putt a straight putt. Once on the green, mark your ball and clean. While you read the break from behind the ball pick out a spot 12 to 18 inches in front of the ball on the target line you want to start your putt.

Next reposition your golf ball label so it is aligned at the spot you've chosen. With some brands of golf balls it is beneficial to draw a line on the ball with a permanent marker to aid in aligning the ball.

While addressing the ball place your putter head perpendicular to the label or line on the ball. Once you've addressed the ball have trust in your alignment and concentrate fully on achieving the correct pace to the hole.
