Snake Eyes components

If you like to experiment with building clubs or want a better, more affordable set then try the Snake Eyes components sold by Golfsmith.com..

The Snake Eyes line of club components offers some excellent features for golfers of all types. In the irons I have found the perimeter weighted, slightly offset MS Viper irons (12.50 ea.) to be an excellent choice for the mid to high handicapper and the MC-01(29.50ea.) forged blades to be very good for the low handicapper. The MC-01’s have a compact, clean, stylish look that rivals any other blade on the market . The TC-01 (12.50 ea.) with its traditional blade look, perimeter weighted, cast and chromed head is excellent for low to mid handicapper’s offering slightly more foregiveness than the forged MC-01 model.

The Snake Eyes Quick Strike Utility woods (35.00 ea.) are very solid hitting and easier to hit from difficult lies than conventionally designed woods. Tungston weights on the sole give these clubs a lower center of gravity for getting the ball up easily as well as heel- toe weighting for stabilty of the clubhead during the hit.

The Snake Eyes line of putters (19.50 to 44.50) are also an excellent choice. They have milled stainless steel and mild carbon steel models that equal the top brand name competitor’s in design and quality but sell for less than half the cost.

I also recommend the complete line of scoring wedges (33.50ea.) . These are forged compact designed heads in a variety of lofts from 50 to 60 degrees. All these club’s can be viewed and ordered by accessing golfsmith.com.

Once you know your shaft preference for length and flex it is just a matter of trimming the shafts to the correct lengths, prepping the tips, swingweighting the heads, gluing the heads with clubmaker’s epoxy, and slipping on your favorite grips. If you have never built clubs before then you can read about what is involved on Retireegolf’s Save Money or Golfsmith can build them to your custom order for a small fee.

You will be really impressed with the overall quality and craftsmanship of these components. Not only do they have excellent design features but they are also crafted to exacting tolerances in loft, lie, and weighting. In the component industry I have been unable to find comparable quality and design from any other component club manufacturer.

I am currently having a lot of fun using the MC-01 forged blades (3-PW) with Dynamic Gold S-300 shafts and the 14 and 18 degree Quick Strike utility woods with Graffalloy Pro-Lite Fairway stiff shafts.
